Sunset: October 30, 2023

Vincent M. Holloman, II was born on October 5, 1976, in Portsmouth, Virginia, the first child of Vincent M. Holloman and Deborah Goodrich Holloman.

Vincent started his educational journey in the Portsmouth Public School System. He was a proud graduate of I.C. Norcom High School, Class of 1995. He attended Hicks Academy of Beauty Culture in Norfolk, VA where he graduated in 1996. He was a board-certified cosmetologist for over 25 years. He worked in several salons in the Hampton Roads area, including Images Salon, Glamystique Salon and G Patton Salon to name a few.

Vincent was a talented hairstylist whose work has been featured in national hair campaigns and product packaging for Softsheen Carson. His work has been seen in several publications such as Sophisticate’s Black Hair Magazine, Hype Hair, Style Q, and Mazza Hair International. His work has also been placed on the covers of several magazines including Cutting Edge Styles and Hair Sensations. He has also received several awards for hair cutting and styling in his career.

Vincent delighted in working on creative photoshoots in a variety of roles from hairstyling, creative directing and wardrobe styling before his health began to fail.

Vincent was a person of strong faith and wished for kindness in this world. In his early years he attended First Baptist South Portsmouth and Celestial Baptist Church in Portsmouth, VA. His faith allowed him to persevere through many health challenges over the years.

Vincent had many gifts and special interests and was best known for his hair and unique style. He had an eye for fashion styling and interior & architectural design; he loved scripted television dramas and had developed a recent interest in genealogy and researching his family’s roots.

Sadly, on October 30, 2023 Vincent peacefully transitioned at home surrounded by his loving family.

He was predeceased by maternal grandparents, Joseph and Lelia Hunt Goodrich; paternal grandparents, Virgil and Ella Mae Dukes Holloman all of Portsmouth, VA; two loving aunts whom he shared special bonds with: Delores G. Yancy and Joyce G. Rawls of Portsmouth, VA, as well as many other family members.

Vincent leaves to cherish his memory his loving parents, Vincent and Deborah Holloman of Suffolk, VA; his sister and best friend, Chenille Holloman of Alexandria, VA; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, dear friends who became family and beloved clients.

A life gone too soon. 😢

To the family and friends of our dear Vincent, life is a gift and it is precious.  So, when we lose a loved one in death, it is indeed a loss because we will miss seeing them, conversing with them, and hearing their thoughts and concerns, even if temporarily.  May the hope of the resurrection be a source of comfort to us all. (Job 14:14; Ps. 104:5; Ps. 37:29; Rev. 21:3, 4)  In the interim, may the comfort from the God of tender mercies give us the compassion to comfort one another during this grievous period in the days, weeks, and months to come. (2 Cor. 1:3, 4) 💞

    Love Your Family,

    💐Rosie, Darryl, Ann, Angie

To the family. We are so sorry for your loss. The death of a love one can be extremely difficult to cope with. Many have found comfort in the promise found there at Acts 24:15. There it speaks about the Resurrection. Do draw comfort in the promise found there and please know you and your family will be in our prayers…MaryAnn
