Tonya F. Giddings-Tucker

Tonya Francine Giddings – Tucker passed away peacefully on April 22, 2024, in Norfolk,
Virginia. Born on January 10, 1976, at Norfolk General Hospital to Howard N. Giddings and
Cheryl A. Giddings.

Tonya graduated high school from Peshtigo High School in Peshtigo, Wisconsin, where she was
a flute player in the high school band throughout her school years. She later started her career in
customer service, quickly becoming one of the hardest working individuals in the company,
meeting several people who became lifelong friends. Tonya earned an Associates Degree of
Science, Paralegal Studies from Bryant and Stratton College in 2012, while raising her three
children, Destini, Diamonte and Tyrique.

Tonya was known for being a devoted and loving mother to her children and enjoyed spending
quality time with them at amusement parks and movie theaters. She loved watching her favorite
drama shows, Marvel movies and was a true sports fanatic. She always supported her children in their sporting activities, and most recently traveled to JMU and Texas to watch her sons play
college football.

Tonya will always be remembered for her selfless loving heart and her no-nonsense demeanor.
She was our warrior and fought her battle for over six years and she did not complain. She was
strong, brave, and fought for her children and family. On April 16th, 2024, she accepted Jesus
Christ as her Lord & Savior. She will forever be our sweet firecracker.

Tonya was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandmothers, Emily Joe and Oralee
Moore, and aunts Celia Giddings Clawson and Emily Holmes.

She leaves behind to cherish beautiful memories, mother Cheryl Giddings of Hampton, father
Howard Giddings (Felicia) of Virginia Beach, brother Howard Giddings Jr. (Rachel) of Portland,
three children Diamonte Tucker-Dorsey of Norfolk, Destini Giddings of Virginia Beach, Tyrique
Tucker of Harrisonburg, nephew Isaac Giddings of Portland, step-siblings Rateshia, Beat’e and
Carl Moye of Virginia Beach and a host of many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends that she loved.

And as she loved to say, y’all not finna talk her to death!

My girl Tonya, I can still hear that laugh as if we were in the office together laughing over something crazy, or how you would say ” I don’t have time for this” lol Tonya you were truly a blessing to be around everyday and will be forever missed my girl. I hope you got you some snacks up there girl lol. I love you and I will forever cherish and miss you.

    I started working with Tonya in 2021 when I started Zim, she was was my trainer and a fuuny one at that if i hit something she would say I didn’t tell you to hit that”. we was friends every since. I will miss her so much talking about her dogs fussing him out cause she trying to work and he done got out of his cage. Her kids was her pride and joy and she talked about her two boys playing football and her twin her daughter.

    Tonya was a sweetheart. She was always willing to help and give her all. Her smile and laugh were so genuine. My prayers go out to her family during this time. Sometimes we don’t understand why things happen or when the pain will go away and we may never get the answers. I pray you remember all the good times, laughs, hugs and love.
