Sherodine “Marion” Phillip, beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, and sister passed away on May 1, 2024, at the age of 64. She was born in Saint Kitts on June 9, 1959. Marion, known for her warm and friendly nature, never met a stranger. She touched the lives of so many people with her strength and determination to thrive despite her health challenges.
Marion loved to cook and would often randomly stop anyone to give them her recipes and would even offer to cook for them.
She dedicated her career to serving as a supervisor at Ramada Inn, overseeing the housekeeping department before retiring in 2016.
She was a member of Living Word Ministry Church of God in Christ, where she was baptized in 2021.
Marion leaves to cherish her memory, her mother, Matilda Saunders, her children Federico Bolques and Marilyn Phillip, her grandchildren Jaimiere and Sariayah Bolques. Her siblings, Caldyn (Valorie) Phillip, Inita (Michael) Gregory, Jephthah (Karen) Liddie, Paul (Michelle) Liddie, Artford (Shanta) Saunders and Arlene (Michael) Jones. And a host of nieces and nephews, extended family, and friends.
Marion loved turtles and still has one at home named Tiger. The turtle is the symbol of the World and Earth, inspiring us to chart our own course with energy and determination. It embodies strength, survival, longevity, and wisdom, which she carried until the very end.
The family will receive friends at Metropolitan Funeral Service in Berkley from 2 pm-6 pm on Tuesday, May 7th. The funeral will be at Metropolitan Funeral Service in Berkley at 11am on Wednesday, May 8th.
Marion was unique, special, a good soul and will truly be missed by everyone.
