MABLE THOMAS
On Friday, March 18, 2022, an angel gently took Mable Thomas, 81, to her heavenly home. She was born April 23, 1940 to Frederick Loney and Lovie Thomas in the Twin Pines section of Norfolk County, VA (now Portsmouth, VA). She had an appointment that she could not cancel; she could not postpone; she could not delay; she could not revoke; nor could she rescind. She could not plan to send a messenger in her place. She had an appointment that God had written in the Lamb’s book before her conception in her mother’s womb. It was Mable’s time to rest with the Lord.
Mable attended Churchland Elementary School and Crestwood High School. She was employed by Hills Day Care in Portsmouth, VA for several years. She enjoyed cooking for family and being in the presence of the grandchildren and great grand-children. Her sweet and affectionate spirit as well as her beautiful smile were two of a kind and
contagious. Mable’s parents and all eight siblings preceded her.
She leaves to cherish her memory six children: Alvin Thomas, Vernon Thomas (Mona), Carlton Thomas Davis, Wanda Howell, Linwood Thomas (Karen), and Beverly Moss. She also will be missed by 15 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and a dear friend, Maxine Smith. She will also be missed
