Leroy M. Shecut, Jr.

Sunrise: January 1, 1964

Sunset: March 25, 2022

Leroy M. Shecut, Jr. was born on January 1, 1964. He was the pride and joy and leaves to mourn his father, Leroy M. Shecut, Sr. (Andreia), and Mother – Maralene Wilson (D.). Leroy predeceases his siblings, Teanne Neal (Roger), Mack Baugh (Audrey), Michelle Shecut, Zenobia Wilson, and Waverly Wilson.

Leroy Jr has also left behind his earth angels- his children- Winter Perry (Nike), Demetrie Shecut, and Anne Jules (Reynaldo) and five beautiful grandchildren: TalerAmynah Perry, Khaden Perry, Naquel Jr. Perry, Grace Jules, and Jace Jules. He also has many nephews, nieces, cousins, aunts, uncles, and close friends that he considered his family. He made friends wherever he went and was always the fun, quick-witted character, wherever he traveled.

As a young man, Leroy Jr. grew to 6’11” and was a high-school basketball star in Virginia. He earned a basketball scholarship to Lon Morris College in Texas. He had the misfortune of tearing his ACL ligament during his first week there and, sadly, never got to play for the college. He forged on through surgery and the New York Sports Clinic therapy. Although he tried, his ACL did not heal efficiently. So he left Texas and eventually became an independent owner-driver of long-haul trucks. When he could, he took his three children with him. O’ the stories Winter, Demetrie, and Anne could tell of them and their Dad in the truck!

Leroy Jr. continued trucking until he ended that career. He then became a local small business entrepreneur. He was a loving, wonderful son, father, and grandfather. He believed in working hard for what he needed for his children. He was a sharing, giving person who was loyal to his family and friends. We would like to recognize his life-long friend, Ray Seward. We would also like to thank his loving friend, Trinell Conquest. She was an invaluable support and offered special care to Leroy jr. He loved to fish and work with his hands. Leroy, Daddy, we are missing you so much! We love you and will see you in the morning!
