Leon Hill

Leon Hill, the son of the late Eva Mae Hill, and the late James Clifton Whitaker was born on May 13, 1956, in Tillery, NC. He departed his earthly life on September 2, 2022, at the Chesapeake Health and Rehabilitation Center. 

Leon received his education at Halifax County Public Schools.

Leon accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and joined Dome of Canaan Baptist Church in 2000 under the leadership of Dr. Theodore R. Little, Jr.

Leon was employed with Norfolk State University until his health declined. In his spare time Leon enjoyed fixing the unfixable and breaking the unbreakable. He was the handyman of the Hill family and countless friends and co-workers. He loved being outdoors and enjoying nature.  He could put a smile on anyone’s face by giving compliments, singing or dancing. If he thought you were doing something wrong he would always say “Be nice”.  Leon was a hard worker and rarely complained about the task, he just enjoyed working.
