Kharee Jamar Scott was a cherished son, brother, nephew, cousin and friend. He was born on November 27, 2006 and tragically left us on July 29, 2023. Though his time on this earth was brief, his impact and love touched the lives of many.
Kharee was a bright and compassionate, Christian young man who loved the Lord. He gave his life to Christ at the young age of 8 years old when he decided to get baptized. Kharee spent many years devoted to several youth ministries and church services at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Portsmouth, Virginia. To name a few he was a member of the sunshine choir, youth usher board, youth and young adult choir, and boys to men praise dance team.
He was educated in Portsmouth Public Schools throughout elementary through his freshman year of high school. Kharee attended Churchland Primary Elementary, Westhaven Elementary, Waters Middle School and I.C. Norcom High School. In 2022 he relocated to Texas, there he attended Tomball Memorial High School in Tomball, Texas. Over the years Kharee actively participated in various sports and extracurricular activities but most notably, he was a wide receiver for the I.C. Norcom High School junior varsity football team.
Most recently, he obtained a part-time summer job at Little Caesars. He was so proud and excited for his first job, and we were so proud of him for taking on that new responsibility as a young man. He also had an entrepreneurial spirit, a self-motivated attitude and mentality. He began to invest at a young age and loved learning about the stock market. He will be forever remembered for his caring nature, silly humor and ability to light up any room he entered.
Kharee leaves behind his grieving parents, Latoya Scott (Rayon Pork), Ashley and LaShekia Scott who nurtured his faith and supported him throughout his life. They are immensely proud of the kind-hearted and loving person their son had become. He will also be dearly missed by his siblings, Dajiah Scott, Drakia Doughty, Alexis Wilson, Kourtnee Scott, Kylie Scott, Camden Hazwood, Lyric Pork, and Kaleb Scott who shared an unbreakable bond with their brother. Kharee also leaves behind his Maternal Grandmother Sandra Barnes, Paternal Grandparents Alfreedia and Charles Scott and a wide circle of aunts, uncles, nieces, extended family and close friends who cherished his presence.
Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in knowing that Kharee is resting in the arms of our Heavenly Father. Though he may no longer be with us in body, his spirit will forever live on in the memories and hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
May God bless each one of us and grant us peace during this difficult period.
