Jerome Williams, 75, transitioned peacefully on December 13, 2022. He was the middle son born to the late Rudolph U. Williams and Minnie Pearl Williams in Princess Anne County (Virginia Beach), Virginia on December 29, 1946. Appreciated by many for his friendly demeanor and outgoing personality, Jerome primarily worked as a Long-Distance Truck Driver, and spent decades driving for Owens & Minor. He was also very passionate about music—especially gospel quartet singing, and was a founding member of the popular Norfolk Aires, and sang tenor in the Green Leaf Male Chorus and The Original Gospel Travelers of Virginia Beach.
Jerome married the former Debbie Frances Smith in 1973, and their union produced two children, Jerome and Tamika. After retiring from truck driving, he enjoyed performing groundskeeping work with his younger brother, Daniel. And additionally, he loved utilizing his deep catalogue of soul music to deejay parties for neighbors. He was always well liked by those who knew him, and was always happy to occupy the roles of uncle and friend. Raised in the church, he was committed to his personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and would share his faith with others.
Jerome is survived by his children, Jerome Langston and Tamika Denise Williams, as well as his younger sister, Shirley Mabine. He is also survived by a grandson, Gabriel Levi London, and a bunch of nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends. He is preceded in death by his wife, Debbie Frances Smith Williams, his parents, and both of his brothers, Rudolph Williams and Daniel Williams.

December 27, 2022 at 11:54 amTo the family of Jerome Williams,
We would like to send the deepest , most heart felt prayers and condolences. I had the pleasure of singing with Jerome when I first joined try he Norfolkaires in 1991. We rehearsed diligently, trying to blend our voices. It was hard work and we had fun doing it for Jesus. Every now and then I would look up and see Jerome sitting in the audience. I would recognize him. Jerome always offered words of encouragement, I will always remember that.
God Bless You and Always Trust God.
Sincerely,
The Norfolkaires
