Our beloved mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend, Ida Ann Pratt, peacefully transitioned into eternal rest on Saturday evening, April 14, 2018. Ida was born on January 16, 1923 in Bridgetown, VA. She was the youngest of seven children born to the late William Henry Bryant and the late Effie Sarah Bailey Bryant. She received her formal education in Bridgetown, VA and later in Philadelphia, PA. While in Philadelphia, Ida married the late Naymon Harmon on December 16, 1944 and from this union, a daughter, Ida Ann (Hammon) Brown was born. She was later married to the late David K. Pratt until his death in 1998.
Ida received her diploma in Practical Nursing on December 18, 1957. She was a devoted Practical Nurse at Our Lady of Lourders Medical Center in Camden, NJ. Nursing was her passion She cared for every patient, as if they were a part of her own family. Training was paramount to Ida and she ensured she was current on all the cutting edge training methods, which was evident in the numerous certificates she obtained throughout her career. The genuine care and loving kindness Ida provided helped eas the anxiety her patients felt, while at Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center.
Much of her compassion and servitude was established through her relationship with Christ and rooted in her faith. As a Christian, Ida was a devoted member of the Holy Ghost Headquaters Revival Center at the Met in Philadelphia, PA. She was also an active member on the Usher Board and the church Mother’s Board.
Ida leaves to cherish her memories a daughter, Ida H. Brown (Paul Vin C. Brown) of Virginia Beach, VA; granddaughter, Paulita M. Brown of Alexandria, VA and a host of nieces and nephews.
