Herbert Barco Bryant, affectionately known as Herbie, of 1140 Meadow Sage Lane, Virginia Beach, departed his earthly life for eternal rest on March 11, 2022, only sixty-five days after the passing of his beloved mother. Born on August 2, 1976, he was the youngest son of the departed Algier Bryant and Phyllis Crudup Bryant.
Educated in the public schools of Virginia Beach, Herbie was a former employee of the Newport News Shipyard prior to assisting in the care of his mother. Herbie and his mother spent much time together eating meals, watching movies and creating many memories together. He recently said of his departed mother, “I miss her so much”. Now they are both at peace.
Named in honor of his maternal grandfather Herbert and his paternal grandfather Barco, Herbie is survived by two children: his lovingly devoted daughter Alexis Juliana Bryant and his handsome young son William Solomon Bryant. Both are blessed with the same bright smile and quiet demeanor of their father who was known as a fun-loving, genuine person.
He leaves to mourn his passing his two older brothers, Anderson Lee Benson, Jr. (Linda – Little Rock, AR) and Charles Pendelton Bryant, III (Arlington, TX); one nephew, Charles Pendelton Bryant IV; along with a host of aunts and uncles, other relatives, and friends.
The Bryant family extends heartfelt thanks to all who have so diligently assisted and comforted the family during this time of grief.
