Evangelist Dianna Harris entered eternal rest and peace on Saturday, August 8, 2020 at Autumn Care Nursing Home in Portsmouth. Diane was born on April 2, 1947 in Norfolk County, VA to Mary Wright (Copeland) and the late Edward Douglas. Dianna was affectionately known by many names such as Diane, Evangelist Harris, Prophetess Harris, “Cheetah”, and Momma.
Diane attended Crestwood High School and later received her G.E.D. in 1972. Diane worked for many years as a personal care aid. She enjoyed helping and healing people. While going into the homes of others, Diane realized that she had been blessed with a spiritual gift and could not fight her calling any longer. Diane became an ordain minister. After becoming a minister, Diane heard another calling to become an Evangelist in 2001 under the leadership of Truevine Assembly of Pentecostal Churches, Inc. Her spirituality became closer and closer to the Lord and she was able to prophesize to many people she encountered, thus the name “Prophetess Harris”. Her faith in Jesus lead many people to victory. Diane enjoyed ministry and fellowshipped with many different churches. She especially enjoyed praise and worship at the Upperroom Deliverance with Pastor Sis. Woodard. Eventually, Diane founded and became the pastor of Kingdom Christian Ministries in Capitol Heights, MD. Diane also became a dedicated member at Greater Faith Worship Center, Pastor Nathaniel Thomas, Suffolk, VA. After her health declined, Diane could not worship with Greater Faith Worship Center. She was welcomed and worshiped with Hope Sanctuary, Bishop Frank Allen, Portsmouth, VA. She enjoyed singing with various gospel groups, playing the keyboard, delicious meals, having conversations with her friends and family, and being a craftswoman. She was known for her creations of fancy church hats and wearing them. She was a servant of the Lord, a loving daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend.
Diane was preceded in death by her sister, Izora Thomas and step-fathers, John H. Copeland and Alexander Thomas, Sr.
Diane leaves a rich legacy and much love to be celebrated and cherished by her mother: Mary Copeland; her sister: Connie Patillo, her brothers: Alexander Thomas, Jr. (Caroyln), Lawrence Thomas (Beverly), Nathaniel Thomas (Kyoko), Vernon Thomas (Patricia); her dedicated niece and nephew, Angel Patillo and Angelo Patillo (Ashley); her special friends, Keith Weaver, Barbara Warren, Barbara Wilson, Ann Woodard; a special cousin, Rosa Thomas; and a host of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, god-children, cousins, and friends.
Diane will always be remembered for her caring smile, warm hugs, genuine concern, gracious spirit, and her powerful prayers. She will be deeply missed by all who loved her. There are not enough good things to say about Diane. She had many wonderful qualities: giving, loving, counselor, friend, and a joy to be around. For her unconditional love and devotion to family, warm regard for those in need, kind and motivating words, gentle wisdom, her unselfish love will always be a banner to remember. We LOVE you Diane and you are forever in our hearts.

August 15, 2020 at 2:59 pmWords cannot convey my heartfelt love and admiration for such a wonderful woman of GOD and friend. I will always remember Prophetess Diane’s labor in the vineyard of souls. No one was to be left out as she ministered, one on one, with relentless compassion, fervent prayers and a direct Word from the LORD, that you could rely on. She was fearless as she tore down and as she built up, as she stood watchman on the wall and as she cried loud and spared not. Her family has been blessed to see the works of GOD so close at hand. Please know that Diane’s family and friends are in my prayers that GOD’s peace will be with you. May we cherish the memories of our beloved earth angel, the honorable and gracious…Prophetess Diane.
