Bessie Lee Mackey

Bessie Lee Mackey “Tinee” departed this life on the evening of Monday, October 14, 2019 at Portside Rehabilitation Center formerly Sentara Nursing Home of Portsmouth, VA. She was born on November 15, 1944, in Norfolk County to the late Lee and Ida S. Mackey.

Bessie attended schools in the city of Chesapeake.  Out of the union of Bessie and Hilton Deloatch were born three children.

Bessie was a domestic a worker and a devoted homemaker for many years.  She was compassionate and loved her house plants, flowers and vegetable gardening.

Bessie was preceded in death by her brothers.  Bessie leaves to mourn her loving children, Son Hilton Mackey (Honorleah) of Chesapeake, VA. Daughter,  Carolyn Yvette Perry (Reverend Derrick) of Portsmouth, VA.  Son, Michael Deloatch (Shannon) of Portsmouth, VA. Two sisters,  Viola Little of Norfolk, VA and Ida Mae Mackey-Brown of Chesapeake.  Two brothers, Willie Mackey of Chesapeake, VA, Johnny Mackey (Ann)) of Virginia Beach, VA.  Eight grandchildren, eight great grandchildren.  She also leaves to cherish a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and loved ones.
