Andrew Spain Jr.

Sunrise: July 7, 1945

Sunset: March 22, 2022

Andrew Spain Jr. (76) of Norfolk VA, affectionately known as “SLEEPY”, heeded heaven’s call on Tuesday March 22,2022. He was predeceased by his parents, Mary Beula Spain and Andrew Spain Sr., and his siblings, Clyde Spain and Hebrew “Peewee” Spain.

There are lessons to be learned from every life and Sleepy’s life was an example of Dedication, Class, and, most importantly, Love.

He was employed at Hoffman Beverage Company for 41 years (July 6, 1971 – March 31, 2012). In addition, he belonged to Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Norfolk, VA, where he served in the choir and was recognized for his distinguished service.

Sleepy possessed class in both attitude and style. With a gentle, yet confident demeanor, he had a way of carrying himself that was magnetic. His style of dress was the perfect reflection of his personality. Freshly trimmed cut, creased pants, designer frames, and a mean jewelry game which struck the perfect balance between gentle and confident.

He leaves to cherish his legacy of love with his children, son Antonio Melvin (mother Sandra Melvin), daughter Tamara Woods and son DeRon Woods (Mother Denice Woods). Also, his siblings Sister Sabrina Daughtry and brother Andre Spain (Pamela). Including one God Daughter Makayla Barrington. Also including a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Most importantly, his love was reflected in the way he cared for his children and the way he treated those around him. Although his stay here was for but a season, the love he gave remains forever.

Lastly, Sleepy’s life was an example of love. He was loyal to his team The Dallas Cowboys; he enjoyed watching Redskins fans pout, cry and complain lol.
