March 8, 2024 at 9:32 pmReverend Dee and I wish to offer our condolences to Tina , our friend and sister in Christ and other members of John Blackett ‘s family. I grew up with John and his brother Jimmie in the Huntersville section of Norfolk. We went to the same public schools , the same church , the same college , Norfolk State and together joined the National Honorary Society of Pershing Rifles in 1962. Going to miss you my brother but I know it was well with your soul . Rest in peace.

Mr Blackett was my 7 th Grade Teacher at John Marshall Elementary in Ghent along with mr James Chambliss who has passed on. Myself and Hattie Williams and Judith Perry would like to Let the Family Know that we will miss ma Blackett Dearly, Even though he called us by our Childhood nicknames in Class which made it Fun to be around him, But What I remember most of all about him was that he made our X-mas Party Extra Fun was when he bought in a X-mas album by Carla Thomas and Just Knowing I that he could get down Just like his class. Mr. BIackett you shall Wear a Golden Crown, you will be missed . RIP.

March 12, 2024 at 9:44 pmMy deepest condolences and sympathy to John’s family. You are in my prayers. John is one of the nicest people I know. We grew up together in Huntersville. In our adult years I would see him at church and he was always warm and cordial. May these few words help him meet the ancestors.
