Idontae Gladeese Bennett

Idontae Gladeese Bennett-Rogers was born to the late Robert Chester Forrest and Brenda Carol Bennett on November 29, 1981. She went home to celebrate with CHRIST on Wednesday; October 27, 2021.

Born and raised in the Berkley section of Norfolk, VA, Idontae (Dee Dee) graduated from Lake Taylor High School.

Idontae accepted CHRIST at an early age, as she was a member of Rising Sun Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Doctor Hilton C. Felton Sr. During her early adult years, she was a member of New Beginnings Apostolic Faith Ministries under the leadership of Bishop and Apostle King, and would later become a member of LOVE In Action Ministries.

Idontae had a passion for extracting and developing hidden potential within the youth and young adults. As a result she became a teacher at Smart Start Christian Academy and showered the children with education and wisdom. In 2021, Idontae became the owner of Queen Carol’s Closet, where she had a passion for apparel.

Idontae made an everlasting impression on her family, friends, and coworkers. She loved instructing: modern dance, and mime dancing. She also loved cooking and singing. She was well known for being a good mother to her four children, and her warm smile, but most of all for her passion for loving God.

She leaves to cherish her memories her *Husband: Aryq (Eric) Rogers (Youngstown, OH), *Children: Darion M. Brown, Devontae M. Brown, Dajon M. Bennett, D’Aryq M. Bennett (all of Norfolk, VA), *Father & Mother In-Love: Otto Hughey Jr. & Tracey Rogers-Hughey (both of Youngstown, OH), *Brother In-Love: Otto Hughley III (Youngstown, OH), *Sisters: LaSonda (Née Née) Strothers (John), Veneecia (Nikki) Battle (Carlos), Shaunteese (Shaun) Bennett (all of Norfolk, VA), *Brother: Arveance (Man Man) Bennett (Norfolk, VA), and a host of: *Uncles, *Aunts, *Cousins, Nieces (great nieces), *Nephews (great nephews), and *Friends, in which she all loved.
