Estin Cleopheus Taylor Sr. was born in Norfolk, Virginia on January 8,1937 to the late Thomas and Beatrice Taylor. Estin was educated in the Norfolk Public Schools and graduated from Booker T Washington High School. Estin joined the United States Army after high school. After serving in the U.S. Army, he became a forklift operator at the Naval Base and Norshipco. During his youth, he was known throughout Berkley for his athletic ability and beautiful tenor voice.
Estin was joined in marriage to Barbara Nicholson. He was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather and a wonderful friend. Out of this 53-year union came their two devoted children, Estin Taylor Jr. and Kellie Taylor-Woodson. They fondly called him “D”.
Estin enjoyed exercising, doing yard work and spending time with friends and family. His grandchildren Tanisha, Autumn and Avawere his greatest joys.
On Sunday, December 8,2019, the Angel of Mercy touched Estin and he heard the voice of his Savior saying, “Servant of God , well done, the battle has been fought; the victory is won, enter thy Master’s joy.”
He leaves to cherish his memories , his son Estin Taylor Jr; daughter Kellie Woodson (William);three grandchildren, Taneisha, Autumn, and Ava and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends
