Sunset: August 8, 2018

Deloris Ann Bedford was born on January 26, 1945 to Garfield and Elizabeth Jones in Norfolk, Virginia. After the passing of her mother, she spent time in New York and North Carolina with family, until she returned to Virginia at the age of 18. She completed her high school education in Norfolk, Virginia. In the early 80’s, she attended nursing school while raising three children and her grandson. In 1982, she met her husband and soulmate Wayne (CC) who she was with for over 40 plus years and in 1985 created a 4th child to raise. Although Deloris worked various jobs to provide for her family, she completed her nursing certification and her love of caring for others led her to a promising career as a CNA. She worked for Lake Taylor and Lafayette Villa facilities for years and later retired as a home health nurse. She spent the remaining years foused on living and loving her husband, children, grandchildren, and life. Deloris only gave birth to four biological children, but God gave her so many other children to love and care for. She was “Mom” to so many family members, friends, and strangers and touched the heart of everyone she ever met. Deloris was truly blessed. On August 8, 2018, at the age of 73, she was called home to be with her heavenly father.
