Dawnte Montrell Williams, also known as “Gank” was born August 5, 1986 to Wylie Stevenson Jr. and the late Duanita Williams. Dawnte was born and raised in Norfolk, VA. He worked as a cook but his hobby/passion was putting in music. Anybody who knew Dawnte knew he never had nothing bad to say about anyone, kept a positive attitude and a great spirit around him. Fun to be around and always kept a smile on his face. Dawnte was a loving father and a devoted son. Dawnte touched many hearts. Leaving to cherish in his memory his father Wylie Stevenson Jr., stepmom Cher Stevenson, two sisters: Shawnte’ Williams (Quinton) and Trineka Upshur; one brother Cherden Anthony all of Norfolk; seven children: Tayawna Williams, Kamaiyah Davis, Dawnte Williams, Tayla Williams, Aaliyah Blackmon, Da’or Williams, and Montrell Williams. Furthermore, he leaves a host of cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends including three devoted friends Robert Phillips, Jermaine Ward, and Quintin Hill. A special Uncle Lamont Williams, also a special friend Takiea Martin (T.T.).

Waiting to welcome him home are his mother, Duanita Williams, his grandmothers, Thelma Stevenson and Vera Williams and his
grandfather, Wylie Stevenson, Sr.
