Y’Toshia Shawnta Hodges, 47, the daughter of Sylvia Hodges-Smith and Kelvin Riddick, departed this life on February 4, 2025, in Norfolk, Virginia. She was born September 26, 1977, at Norfolk Community Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia. Continuing her studies in her desired field of interest, she also acquired certifications as a Home Healthcare provider, Certified Nursing Assistance (CNA). She worked for the UP Center and Public Partnerships as a CNA. And she enjoyed transporting students while working for LPR Transportation.
Shawnta was a member of New Rising Sun Baptist Church. She loved cheering on her beloved Philadelphia Eagles and sporting the jersey. She would have been so truly excited for their recent Superbowl victory. Her personality was that of a cheerful, pleasant, devoted, soulfully supportive, and an exceptionally true lover of life, and she demonstrated it well.
She leaves many to cherish her memories including her mother Sylvia Hodges Smith; father Kelvin Riddick; brothers, De’Vonte Hodges and Kelvin Matthews; sisters, Jalisa & Kashell Matthews and Chimere Anderson; nephews, Dionte’ & Kingston Hodges; uncles, Stanley Perkins & Stacey Hodges; aunts, Teresa Hodges-Deloatch and Tracy Hinton; cousins, Reggie, Sherita, Y’Kechia, Shaquan, Towanna, Riana, T’Keyah, Diondre, Jamel Hodges, Jasmine Davis, a special friend Brian Jackson Cox & his supportive mother, Gerri Jackson Cox and lots of other relatives and friends.
