X’Zavier JhiShawn Roberts was born on Saturday February 3, 2001 to Tiffany M. Roberts and James N. White at Maryview Hospital in Portsmouth, Va. at 4:18 p.m. ‘Zavier, as most called him, or ‘Zay for short, came out fist first, ready to conquer the world.
As a child his energy was hard to contain. He was an adventurous soul, a daredevil and not afraid of anything, or anyone for that matter! If you were ever a client of his mother, Tiffany, in her early years as a stylist, you know just how much energy X’Zavier had!! He was definitely a shop baby! If he wasn’t sucking his thumb, his infectious smile would warm any heart, even when he knew he was wrong, he definitely was a shop baby!
To release energy, X’Zavier became a member of Gymstrada Gymnastics of Virginia Beach and quickly joined the pre-team. Soon after, he joined boxing. He was ‘first chair’ trombone in the Greenbrier Middle School band, as he loved music. X’Zavier also played quarterback position for the Greenbrier Panthers football team. He was a Cub in Boy Scouts of America’s, Troop 934 under Cub Master and Assistant Scout Master Leon Hill. However one of his greatest prides was becoming team captain of the Greenbrier wrestling team with many victories. X’Zavier loved the arts, had a passion for dancing and loved the outdoors. He spent many hours sailing, swimming, snorkeling, fishing, hiking, climbing trees and even learned to fly a plane! He loved to travel up and down the east coast on the tails of his mother.
‘Zay loved to be noticed, dared to be different. Stood out in the crowd. He was the center of attention, yet humble enough not to steal anyone else’s shine. He was an excellent big brother, an amazing son, grandson, cousin and friend, who never met a stranger.
Being bought up around his great-grandparents most of his life, he had an old soul, also a heart of pure gold. From them he learned to work hard, respect himself and others, also valuable life lessons and morals. Most of all he learned to be wise. Raised in a Christian home he dedicated his life to Christ and was on his journey to become a stronger God fearing man. He would give you the shirt off his back and his shoes if you needed them; our very own Boaz. He looked to his mother for guidance along with his faith and prayer to reach the heights he so urned for.
‘Zavier was becoming the man he hoped to be and continued to make his mother proud. She was his rock. He loved his mother and admired her work ethics and being a strong single mom. With faith, work ethics, and support from his mother, along with his dedication and determination those attributes gave him immaculate strength to accomplish ANYTHING he put his mind to.
At the age of 19, X’Zaviers’ hard work and determination payed off, resulting in his first step into manhood. He was approved for his first home! Unfortunately, the VERY day he stepped into manhood was the very day he was tragically taken away from us. His light, his energy was too much. He was a round peg trying to fit into a square world. God has better plans for him. His work here is done.
He leaves us to join our guardian angels; great-grandparents Robert and Deloris Badham along with his aunt E-lexus Dodd who predeceased him and many other loved ones.
However he leaves behind a wonderful mother & father; Tiffany M. Roberts and James N. White, who is honored to be so, both of Chesapeake. His brothers; KaMorrie Thomas, Brendon Lupton, Shatique, Jayden & Sincere White. Sisters; Samera & Tajay. Incredible grandparents; Eric & Earlice ‘Lisa’ Dodd, John ‘Levi’ Adams of Trenton, New Jersey and Anita ‘Michelle’ Head of Norfolk, VA. Three beautiful great-grand parents; Lonnie Mae Dodd of Haines City, FL & James ‘Grandaddy Grey’ Dodd of Westfield N.C. and Sara Inniss of Trenton, N.J. His beautiful aunts Jessica Wolfe and Marquishia ‘MoMo’ Sutton of Portsmouth, VA., Danita Fenton & Katara Holmes of VA.Beach, VA., Sara, Tamika and Tiajuania Paige of Trenton, N.J. Five uncles; Korrie Dodd and Marquis Wolfe, both of Portsmouth. Jeremy & Andre Paige and Craig Lane of Trenton, N.J. Cousins; Ah’Mya, Malik, Morgan, Madison and Akira Wolfe, Marquez Sutton and Aaron Dodd. A very special cousin who was more like a brother; Kendreall Wilson. X’Zavier also leaves behind his ‘brother from another mother’ Christian Matthew’s along with his mother Amie ‘Ma Amie’ Rinick. The love of his life Ashauntiee Erwin and a host of family and friends.
