Xavier Jermel Winstead, born April 27, 2004 to his loving parents Mia Nicole Perkins and Raymond Jermel Winstead. Xavier was a bright star for all the world to be forever challenged by his kind spirit and generous heart. With deepest sorrow, Xavier at the age of 16, passed suddenly on Monday, August 3, 2020 at Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters (CHKD). Those who knew Xavier, even just a little, lost a shining light in their lives. Xavier will be missed everyday by his parents, loving big brother,
Jalen Harold Winstead, paternal grandmother, Doris Hart; maternal grandfather, James Epps, Jr and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and many many great friends.
We know Xavier is now resting with his predeceased beloved maternal grandmother, Patricia Ann Perkins; paternal grandfather, Charlie Haywood Winstead; maternal great grandparents, Harold and Shirley Perkins and Maternal uncle, James Epps, III.
Xavier was deeply committed to his education, as an honor roll student at Indian River High School in Chesapeake, VA. He was a dedicated lead cello player in the orchestra as well as an active participant on the yearbook staff. Xavier was known for his leadership skills as he engaged and build connections amongst his peers throughout his journey. Committed to friendship with his beloved friends. Xavier will be remembered for being a kindhearted person and someone who always cared about others. Even though he was a Cowboys fan he was known for his culinary skills. He had a passion for cooking food for the soul.
In addition to his culinary skills, Xavier was the family’s go to for home improvement projects and his technology savviness.
Xavier’s sixteen-year journey offered life lessons to all who hoped, with so much capability to bring happiness and joy to others.
Rest In Peace Xavier!!! Your shining star will now shine brightly in heaven. This world will never be the same without you.
