Willie Mae Stepney peacefully passed on to heaven on Monday, May 27, 2019 at the age of 76.She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Stepney, Sr.; her parents, Adris
and John Burton;her sister, Mary Scott; and her brother, Clinton Burton.
Willie Mae was a loving and devoted mother to her sons, Joseph, John (Shawn), and James; a loving grandmother to Emanuel, Elijah, and Isaiah Stephney, and also Roddrick and Keevin Hood. She was also survived by her brother John Burton (Evangeline), and her sister Viola Reid, and several nieces and nephews.
Willie Mae received her R.N. at DePaul Medical Center, and worked there a short time before dedicating the rest of her life to caring for two of her sons, Joseph and James.Willie Mae had
a personal relationship with God, referring to him as “The Big Guy”, and often talked about the Book of Job, and how she admired his strength and continued faithfulness, even though he had many obstacles. Willie Mae always had an encouraging word or just a way to make people smile.
May she rest in Heaven.

At 2 Corinthians 1:3, 4, it calls God “the God of all comfort.” Just imagine, being comforted by a God that knows what we need and gives it to us at the right time to help us cope. I hope this thought brings you and your family some comfort.
