Willie Mae Uzzle Doss was born on January 12, 1948, in Princess Anne County to the late Margaret Uzzle Albritton and Freddy Lindsay. She transitioned to her heavenly home on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, after a long illness.
Willie Mae was educated in the Princess Anne County Public School System. She worked for several companies, including Belos Supermarket. Her passion was styling hair. She worked for over forty years as a beautician, most notably at Rice’s Nachman’s and Hollywood Hairstyles.
She was married to the late Raymond Doss for fifty-three years. Together, they joyfully raise and celebrate all their children. Willie Mae was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She attended high school and college sports events. She loved to watch her sons’ boxing matches. She would support her children in all their activities. She loved to encourage young people. She loved rooting for the Bears and Cowboys.
She enjoyed and lived life to the fullest. She loved to celebrate family occasions like anniversaries and birthdays. She enjoyed spending time with her friends. She liked to wear colorful and festive attire. Oftentimes, she and Ray would wear matching outfits.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Doss, her daughter, Margaret Ann Uzzle, her mother, Margaret Uzzle Albritton, her father, Freddy Lindsay, her mother-in-law Virginia Smith, her brother, Larry Uzzle, Sr., her sisters, Vera H. Diaz and Monica A. Riddick, her son in law Alvin Bray, and her beloved Aunt Mary F. Uzzle.
Willie Mae leaves to cherish her memories a daughter Felicia Dixon Bray; five sons, William Creekmore, Miguel Dixon (Regina), Johnny Doss (Shelby), Jermaine Doss, and Jabbar Doss; seven grandchildren, Tiara (Keith), Shayla, Miguel, Jr. (Miranda), Keshana, KaJohn, Makyal, and Mikal, seven great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren; three sisters Elizabeth Evans, Juana Albritton-Simpson (Mark), Johnna Lewis (Kelley) brother Christopher Albritton (Carol), a brother in law Ronald Doss, a sister in law Tavana Uzzle, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She also leaves to cherish the ladies of Hollywood Hairstyles and Salon Love, special friends Gloria Hill, Ms. Bell, Ms. Moore, Mrs. Henrietta, Ms. Liz, the Davidsons, the Beverly Family, and many more.
