Willie Knight Westry was born June 22, 1942 in Rocky Mount, NC. He departed this life peacefully at his home on August 31, 2019. He is predeceased by his loving wife of 51 years, Annie Ruth Cherry Westry; mother, Martha Ann Williams Westry; father, Sam Westry, Jr.; paternal grandmother, Mary Knight Gregory; sister, Mary Elizabeth Westry Stewart; daughter, Tina Westry Thomas and son, Jamaul (Samuel) Westry.

Willie Westry our patriarch married the love of his life, Annie Westry and they shared 51 years of incredible friendship and marriage together. Roshine endearingly referred to by family and friends known as the original do it yourself man believed everyone has the ability with in themselves to achieve and obtain life goals exceedingly and abundantly. Willie was educated in the Virginia Beach School System. Willie retired from Century Concrete where he worked in the Concrete Industry for over 55 years as a Cement Mason Foreman.

Willie was a strong courageous man of faith he dedicated his life to Jehovah God in the 1980’s he was a living testament of a fearless father choosing Faith, Jehovah God, Grace and Mercy over fear. Willie transitioned this life peacefully leaving a legacy that most would not imagine as obtainable. He is andalways will be our Hero.

Willie Westry leaves to cherish his memories children, Lisa Johnson, Patricia Westry, Willie Mae Rochelle (Johnnie) Brooks, Sean Westry, Lynn Westry, Sherrie Westry and Paul Cherry; grandchildren, Tanesha Westry, Christina Westry-Owens, Larry Westry, Tavion Westry, Darjane
Westry, Teanna Westry, Ciara Westry, Chauve Hogue, Ahnila Westry and Nadia Thomas; great grandchildren, Tyara Scott, Antonio Scott, Sehvyn Smith and Nuri Westry; brother, Sam (Rosa) Westry, III; sisters, Janice (Laffayette) Ferebee, Ruby (Willis) Mitchell, Juanita Westry and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
