Willie James Harris, born January 7, 1966, in Norfolk, Virginia, attended Norfolk Public Schools. In everything he put his mind to, Willie was a hard worker. He was so proud that he earned his GED and he was a very gifted contracted painter. He prided himself in his work. He worked for many painting companies over the years, until he succumbed to his illnesses.
To know Willie is to love Willie. “Junebug,” as he was affectionately called by his maternal grandmother, Edith Hall, loved his family. He would never leave you without saying “I love you”! And he loved to sing, and he could sing. Willie received Jesus Christ at any early age, at Queen Street Baptist Church, where our grandma Edith took us to Sunday School.
Willie left to cherish his memories: his loving mother, Rosa Willie and devoted father, Robert Willie; his siblings, Demetria (Deedee) Johnson (Alonzo),Terry Harris, Iretta Harris, Yvette Kearney (Carlos), and Stephanie Hill (Latonya); a caring aunt, St. Frances Wynn and uncle, Elder William Wynn; a beloved family friend Kenney Andrews; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

August 15, 2022 at 11:55 amMy sincere and heartfelt condolences to my friends Rosa, Robert and the family. Praying that God will comfort, strengthen and give them all peace during this most difficult time. June Bug was a very nice person and will truly be missed. Just remember family that earth has no sorrow that heaven cannot heal and that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Sending love and hugs to the family and take your rest June Bug.
