William Walter White

William Walter White, Sr. was born on April 25, 1949 to the late Daniel Collins and Gladys Staton White. He was known by some as “Tiny Baby” or  “Capt. White”. He departed from this life and was called home on December 20, 2018.
William served in the Marine Corps and he was never afraid to take risk. He was a strong man that loved fishing and hunting. He received his education from Elizabeth City Public Schools. He enjoyed spending most of his time at home. He loved his wife, family and friends. He was a hard, dedicated worker and he was good at his job. If you knew him, you knew he was a great person that loved many. His favorite phrase was “To you my friend I give you nothing, but peace, love and harmony bet it up”.
William was predeceased by his father, Daniel Collins and his mother, Gladys White Staton; son, Antonio Chapman and daughter, Lorraine White. He leaves to cherish his wife, Catherine White; children, Patricia, William, Marquis, Devontae and Martaquvius; step children, Syretta, Kristina, Marliyn and Bobby Johnson, and Richetta Jackson all of Norfolk, VA; two brothers, Preston Staton and Robert Staton of Norfolk, VA; two sisters, Rosa Brown and Ruth Wiggins of Norfolk, VA; favorite step grandchild, Adrian Almond; a host of grandchildren, step grandchildren, special niece, Darlene Williams.
William will never be forgotten his memories will be with us always.
