William Thomas Gray was born on September 1, 1952, and earned his wings and entered eternal rest on January 13, 2025. He is preceded in death by his parents, Albert Gray, Sr., and Marjorie Gray, his brothers, Robert Foreman and Albert Gray, Jr., and his sisters, Eloise White, Gloria Griffin, and Annie Nurse.

William worked at the Shipyard and Steel Service, retired from the City of Norfolk, and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School. “Buddy Roe” and “Pee-Wee,” as he was faithfully called by everyone, was the life of the party, loving to have a good time with family and friends. He loved his wife and had no problems telling anyone. He also loved his nieces, his sisters, and brothers. He loved to cook seafood and make the best crabcake ever.

He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Jeanette Gray, and daughter, Dorothy Paxton, extended sons, Anthony Paxton, Dayshon Gramm, and Isaiah Stalling, and extended daughter, Susie Thrower. His sister, Barbara Giddens (Milton) of Norfolk, VA, and his brother Charles Gray (Regina) of Virginia Beach, VA, and Sister-in-law Laura Gray of Columbus, OH, and his extended brother, James Cuffee (Mutt) of Norfolk, VA. His grandchildren, Almond Paxton, Kingston, Kiloni, and William Sanderlin all from Norfolk, VA. Special Aunt Luvenia Washington of Richmond, VA. A host of nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, great-great niece, and great-great nephews, other family and friends and in-laws.
