William L. McCoy was born December 21, 1949 in Norfolk, VA to the late William H. Lindsey and Inez McCoy and raised by the late John and Helen Custis. William was a member of Church of Christ and loved spreading the word of God throughout the community. William McCoy affectionately known as “Pep” or “Zep” to many departed this life on March 24, 2018. He was preceded in death by a special and close friend, Della M. Williams; son, George Wilson; siblings, Cora Jones, Della Wilson, Raymond Jackson and Clee Allen Jackson.
He leaves to cherish his loving memory his children, Florence Wilson, Della Moss, Diane Curley (Larry), Vivian Jones (Allen), Annette Reese (Chester), Anitra Dozier, Fatima
Stewart, Rosalyn Valentine (Lee), Dante and Durrell Burroughs; siblings, Martha Rout, Ann McCoy, William Lindsey, Annie Carey, Lorenzo Lindsey (Nancy) and Terry Lindsey (Iesha); extended family, Rev. Timothy Williams, Pete Moss, Donald Lauzon, Loretta Ewing, Theodore Hayes, III and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Pep and I graduated together, he also was friends with my cousins in Crestwood on Outlaw Street, that’s where I met him. As we approach our 50th Class Reunion, he will be truly missed
