William Herbert Brown was born in Everett, North Carolina on December 7, 1942, the third of six children from the union of James E. and Ossie Mae Brown. Peacefully on Sunday, October 14, 2018, Herbert entered the heavenly realm after a long battle with cancer. Herbert (as he was affectionately called) worked for his brother, Earl as a plaster and painter until his retirement in 2001.
Herbert loved life and was obsessed with his beautiful apartment. He loved the casinos and could not wait for the weekends for his nephew, Frank Thomas (Frankie) to take him all over Maryland to play the slots. Herbert leaves to cherish his memory; one daughter, Ann Mitchell and one grandson. Herbert is also survived by his faithful and devoted big brother, James E. Brown (Sylvia) of Washington, DC, his little brother, Johnny Earl Brown of Lafayette, Indiana and sister, Annie Mae Garner (Frank) of Chesapeake, Virginia and a host of other relatives and friends.
May God bless the life, the mission and joy that Herbert brought to his family, friends and associates. He will be forever missed.
