Warner McCoy Hayes departed from this life on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at home surrounded by his loving
family. He was born to the late Warren Allen and Bernice Williams. Warner met his wife to be at the young age of 16.
He knew that she was the bride for him. They were married two years later. Warner enlisted in the U.S. Air Force where he served until he was honorably discharged. He later moved to the city of Chesapeake in the area of Pughesville.
Warner purchased a new home for his family and also started his own business, Hayes contracting. He will be forever missed by so many. His love for family was truly a gift to all that knew him. A man of few words but said a lot when he spoke. He leaves to cherish his precious memories his wife of 66 years, Rosetta Hayes; five sons, Victor, Warner, Marcus, Adrian and Tramain Hayes; four daughters, Bridget Hayes-Jenkins, Susie Hayes-Tucker, Stephanie Wingfield and Shelby Martin; his adored grandson, Antione Tucker; eighteen other grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; one aunt, Thalia Morgan and a host of cousins, family and friends.
