Wardell passed away peacefully in his home on the 10th of June 2018, with his family by his side. He was born on July 23, 1948 to the late Corine Rhodes (Henry Rhodes) and Velma Williams in Norfolk, VA.
Wardell received his education through the Norfolk Public School System and was an employee of Meredith Construction Co. for 20 plus years, where he later retired and went on to start his own lawn care business. In his leisure, he loved to DJ for events and family funchtions. Wardell was also a member of the Men’s Choir at St. Mark R.Z.U.A. Church in Norfolk, VA.
He was predeceased by his sister, Delores Monroe, and his son, Wayne Vass. He leaves to cherish his memories; his wife of 30 years, Rev. Rita Williams; brother, Curtis Williams, Sr. (Donna), and sister, Ramona Grey (Clive); three daughters, Vernell Robertson (Rob), Corey Boone and Tamika Smith (Sherrod) and two sons, Craig Thompson and Orion Boone and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
