Hello Family and friends. I pray that all is well and that God will give you strength as he shower his love and comfort amongst us. Earth has no sorrow that heaven cannot heal.
My name is Melissa White-Greene (Walter’s sister). I remember when my sister, the late Denise White, and I first met our brother, Walter and the rest of our siblings at a family reunion in 1989. Since then, up until his death, we had an impressive and authentic sister and brother relationship. It was so funny because during our introduction for the first time, Walter and our other brother, the late William A. “Dot” White, were so startled that they had to sit down and someone had to bring them a glass of water (lol) while Delores Ann was standing there amazed. I can go on and on about the phone calls, visits, cards, and letters but time will not permit. I am going to miss him and the stories that he shared about our father, the late Joseph “Little Joe” White, Jr. I thank him for filling in the Gaps and increasing my awareness about our daddy. I didn’t get the chance to know our father, because he passed away when I was only one year old. I appreciate how Walter, Dot, and Delores, accepted my sister and I as siblings. So Walter, my brother, take your wings, and rest in peace. I know you are rejoicing in Heaven with the Angels. I love you with all of my heart ❤️.

We are thankful that we were able to share in the memorial service for Walter. We fondly remember his humor and friendly nature. The minister chose a very appropriate Scripture in John 11:25. In it, Jesus reminded Martha and us that He is the resurrection and the life.In Christ, we have hope for the present and for eternity.

I am just now finding out about the passing of Mr. White but I want say that Mr. White was like a Godfather to me. I met him and his beautiful wife at my place of employment and they were the sweetest couple. I loved to see him get tickled. He had a kind and gentle spirit. He never let much get him down, he made me feel like I was part of the family. The world just got a little more dimmer without his light and laughter. May God comfort and bless his wife, son and grandchildren. I am so grateful to God that our paths met over 9 years ago. Thank you Mr. White for showing me how to not allow circumstances beyond my control to get the best of me, Thank you for every time you said ” I’m proud of you”, Thank you for caring about me and my husband. I am so GLAD you were able to meet my daughter.
Rest In Him, Mr. Walter “Everlasting” White ( As I playfully called him).
May the Comfort of God strengthen Mrs. White, Jr. and his entire family.
    I will never forget you!
