Walla Baldwin (Nuck)
Walla Vincent Baldwin Sr. aka “Nuck” of Norfolk, Virginia passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on October 11, at the seasoned age of 73. He passed away at his residence in Maryland with his wife, daughter, grandson, and great-granddaughter by his side.
Walla (Nuck) was born September 23, 1948, in Portsmouth, to Catherine McCormick-Baldwin and Elijah Baldwin. He attended Norfolk Public Schools. He worked several jobs which allowed him the opportunity to provide humor to all he meets. He also had the privilege and honor to marry Sandra Baldwin, which resulted in 50 years of marriage.
Walla (Nuck) hobbies included riding his bike, sitting outdoors, landscaping/gardening, cracking jokes, and his grandkids. But most of all, he was a true comedian/jokester. Everywhere he went, people anticipated him saying something comical, hilarious, and funny. He was our Beloved Entertainer. In his earlier years he devoted most of his time being the “self-appointed” Sheriff of 36 th Street. His later years he spent time watching Westerns and Megan Good movies. Walla (Grandpa) loved his grandkids. He always made it his priority to spend time with all of them. His grandkids meant everything to him!
Walla (Nuck/Grandpa), leaves to cherish his memory: his wife Sandra Baldwin of Norfolk, VA., son Walla (Boogie) Baldwin Jr., 2 daughters; Shannan Trice-Brown (Vincent) of Norfolk, VA., Crystal BaldwinDouglas (Eric) of Upper Marlboro, MD; three sisters, Lena Parrish (Earl) of Falls Church, VA, Synovia (Gail) Perkins of Manassas, VA, and Deflories (Dee) Baldwin of Atlanta, GA; grandkids, Errica, Lil Shannon (Albert), Michael, Larenz, Lil Eric, Emani, Eboni and Elijah; 8 great-grandchildren, plus one on the way, sister-n-laws, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, and a host of family and friends.
Walla is predeceased by his parents, two brothers Emmanuel Baldwin (Linda, still living) and Algy Baldwin (Patricia).
