Vincent Charles Carnell was born on March 8, 1962 in Hopkinsville, Kentucky. He departed this life May 3, 2021 surrounded by family and loved ones. He was preceded in death by his mother Rose-Marie “Pie” Kelsey.
Vincent was also known as Bay-Bay but best known as Pops. Pops attended Fayetteville Public School System in North Carolina.  He graduated from Douglas Byrd Senior High School where he was a part of the track and field. Vincent held a record in long jump for over a decade. He enlisted in the United States Army after graduation in 1981 and retired after 18 years as a Sergeant First Class. He also worked for Flow Mole and Virginia Power.
Vincent truly loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He loved to barbeque, play cards, and listen to good music. Vincent leaves to cherish his memories a devoted and loving wife, Demetrius Carnell; sons, Curtis Bell and Brandon Cherry; daughter in laws, Veronica “Nikki” Perkins and Tamara “Tammy” Cherry; six grandchildren; one great granddaughter; father and stepmother, Hubert Dunston (Portia); three brothers, James “Jamie” Carnell, Arlander “Butter” Carnell (Gloria), and Jeffery “Jeff” Carnell (Denise). He also leaves a large village of nieces, nephew’s cousins and longtime friends to continue the spread of his memories.

      I am so sorry for your loss. Vincent was my friend and brother. We spent years together in the reserves down at Fort Story and had some good times together. I’m going to miss my friend. May he rest in peace.
