Sunset: October 3, 2024

Victor LaMar Alexander Vann, 43, the son of DeLois D. Vann and the late John A. Vann Jr., departed this life on October 3, 2024, in Paramount, California. Victor was born on February 11, 1981, in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Victor was a product of the Virginia Beach and Norfolk Public School Systems, graduating from Booker T. Washington High School in Norfolk, Virginia. He was an outstanding athlete in football at Kempsville Jr and Sr High Schools as well as Booker T. Washington High, playing positions of quarterback and running back. As a youth, Vic played in the Woodstock Recreation League, where he was responsible for leading the team to a championship that propelled him into middle and high school sports. He continued his education at Tidewater Community College, Norfolk campus.

Victor’s first employment after high school was with Kalfus & Nachman Law Firm as a Messenger/Driver, Cox Communication in sales, where he received several awards as a Top Salesman. He later pursued his career and love of Real Estate as a Realtor for Century 21 and Coldwell Banker in Norfolk before moving to California, where he began working with AT&T as one of their top salesmen. Victor later received his California Real Estate license, continued working with Coldwell Banker, and received the “Salesman of the Year Presidential Award.” Victor continued in his final position as a Real Estate Broker with Home Base Realty and MGR Property Management.

Victor became a young father of twin daughters whom he cherished and loved dearly. In his spare time, Vic was an avid video gamer. He also enjoyed playing golf, dancing, horseback riding, dirt biking, ATV riding, and “keeping up” with his Mom on a daily basis. He was definitely always the “life of the party” with never a dull moment!! Victor grew up from birth at New Calvary Baptist Church, where he was part of the Youth Department, Sunday School, and Vacation Bible School. He always looked forward to serving as a youth usher and was proud to pass the collection plate in his blue suit and bowtie. He often sat alongside his daddy (former Minister of Music, NCBC) at the organ during choir rehearsal and after Sunday service. Victor was also a member of the Youth Department of the Eastern Stars, Margaret Francis chapter. After leaving Virginia in 2012, he traveled to New Orleans, Texas, and eventually made California his home, where he resided for the last ten years.

He leaves to cherish his memories his Mother, DeLois D. Vann, his twin daughters, Brittney A. and Brianna A. Vann, and granddaughters, Serenity and Piper. His brother, Johnathan Adam Troy Vann, niece Camille Vann, nephew Bryce Vann, his devoted life partner Flor Fuentes, uncles Donald L. Toran (Annette), Robert L. Toran (Andrea), aunts Joyce Vann Holmes, Janis Toran Taylor, Doris L. Toran, his 1st cousins, Anita Holmes, Gregory Toran, Ronald Toran Jr, Racquel Toran, Donald Toran Jr., Donte Toran, Aleyshia Young, Andre Toran, Robyn Toran, Aaron Toran, Godparents Donald L. Toran Sr., Sam and Jackie Simmons and a host of other loving cousins, relatives and numerous friends and “best friends”, on the East and West Coast.

Victor was such a free spirit by nature and really enjoyed life to the fullest, and wanted everyone around him to experience his joy. His personality was infectious, and many were certainly impacted by it! Vic was fondly known as “Nickelstar” or “Gator” and was loved by all who knew him. He will be forever missed but never forgotten… ALWAYS IN OUR HEARTS!! Rest now in PARADISE.

We’ll see you later, VIC!
