Sunset: November 22, 2019

On November 22, 2019 our Lord and Savior decided it was time for Min. Vhelma G. Felton, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, to receive her wings. Vhelma was born on October 27, 1951 to the late Frank and Thelma Walker in Portsmouth, Virginia. Vhelma worked at the Virginia ABC store for 27 years where she retired. Vhelma was a faithful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and devoted friend. She affectionately loved her church, First Baptist Mahan. Her radiant light will shine for all of those who knew her.

She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband, Rev. Steven Felton; her children, Natalie Boyd and Nathaniel Boyd (Kelly); two step sons, Steven Felton, Jr. (Michelle) and Alex Felton; one sister, Clarice Shamlee; six grandchildren: Nahjma, Kareem, Chloe, Bryce, Noah and Nyla; and one nephew, Tremaine (NaKita). Vhelma was predeceased in death by her parents, Frank and Thelma Walker and her aunt, Margaret Jones. We, the family, would like to thank you all for the outpouring of love and strength that you have shown.

•To Rev. Steve Felton and Family – What moves through us is a silence, a quiet sadness, a longing for one more day, one more word, one more touch, we may not understand why our love one left this earth so soon, or why they left before we were ready to say good-bye, but little by little, we begin to remember not just that they died, but that they lived. And that their life gave us memories too beautiful to forget. My prayers and thoughts are with you.
