Troy C. Pledger, age 62, passed away at his home in Norfolk, VA, on May 5, 2024. He was born on March 4, 1962, in Newark, NJ, to Linwood and Pauline Pledger. Troy’s family relocated to Norfolk, Virginia, in 1970, where he attended Granby High School and distinguished himself as a student athlete.

Troy was known for his unwavering work ethic and his passion for helping others. For over 17 years, he contributed his skills to sales and delivery at The Dump furniture store. In 2017, Troy ventured out on his own and founded “Always Moving,” a successful moving company that has positively impacted countless individuals and businesses throughout Hampton Roads and beyond.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Troy was a man who cherished laughter, engaging in lively debates, and spending quality time with loved ones. He found great joy in watching sports, particularly cheering on his beloved Dallas Cowboys. Troy’s generous spirit and kind heart were evident in his constant efforts to support and uplift those around him.

Troy is preceded in death by his father, Linwood Pledger Jr., and sister, Linette Pledger. He is survived by his loving mother, Pauline Pledger; devoted daughters, Latoya Blowe (Trenton) and Latisha Pledger; cherished grandson, Shai Blowe; sisters, Donna Pledger Brown (Raymond), Deanna Pledger, Keisha Artis (Leander); brother, Timothy Pledger; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Troy will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of hard work, compassion, and laughter will continue to inspire those whose lives he touched.
