“I fought a good fight, I have finished my course, and I have kept the faith.” II Timothy 4:7
On Friday, May 2, 2025, Troy Eugene Cox ascended peacefully into the heavenly realm to be with our Lord and Savior. Troy was born on June 29, 1936, in Bertie County N.C. to the late Mattie Mae Cox.
Troy was predeceased in death by his brothers, Leon, Lloyd, and Linwood Cox.
Troy worked for General Electric for twenty years, but he decided to transition over to driving 18 wheelers. He was a member of Teamster Union #822. He enjoyed sports and was a die-hard Dallas Cowboy fan!
In this life he leaves to walk the path of righteousness, his wife of more than forty-five years, Sandra R. Cox; his Children, Suzette M. Floyd (David) of Chesapeake, VA, Terry E. Wilson (Calvin), Willie E. Cox and Benny L. Cox all of Portsmouth, VA; one sister-in-law, Brenda Massenburg of Portsmouth, VA. Troy was blessed to have eleven grandchildren, and a host of great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
We all will carry the legacy and memories of Troy Eugene Cox’s life here with us and we graciously thank God for Troy’s lifetime with us.
He will certainly be missed!
