Tom Harvey Pelham, Jr. was born on September 26, 1954, in Washington, NC to the late Annie Moore, raised by the late Tom Harvey Pelham, Sr. and Dicie Canady. He attended North Carolina Public Schools, and after graduating, he attended Elizabeth City State University.
Harvey later moved back home and started his career with Toyota Motor Sales. After the company closed in 1999, the die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan moved to Chesapeake, VA, to be closer to his daughter. Harvey then started a new career at George E. Sharp and later met and married Earlene Johnson in April 2006. Harvey loved to cook on the grill and watch football.
Harvey is preceded in death by his mom, brother, Kenny Wayne Rogers, and two step-sons, Theron (Black) Johnson and Tracy L. Beach, Sr.
Harvey leaves to cherish his memories with his wife Earlene Pelham of Norfolk, VA. One daughter, Veronica Pelham of Norfolk, VA, and step-children, Simone (Larry), Lovell, and Lakisha. He helped raise Tanasha, Anthony, and Andre, four grandchildren, Derrick Custis, Jr., Amarie’ Mitchell, Jovon Reed, and Kendall Reed, two sisters, Valda Rogers Richard (James) of Washington, NC, and Deloris Rogers Moore of Chocowinity NC, three sisters-in-law Gloria Gray, Jackie Shaheed (Murray) of Norfolk, VA, and Ann Meehan of Graham, NC, two brothers, Edmond Rogers, Jr. of Virginia Beach, VA, and Elvis Antonio Rogers (Cheryl) of Pittsburgh, PA, one brother-in-law, Clarence Highter (Carman) of Norfolk, VA, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
