Tiffany Renae Bell, 44, of Portsmouth, VA passed away peacefully on December 31, 2024, surrounded by the love and comfort of her family and cherished friends.
Born on May 30, 1980, in Portsmouth at the Naval Hospital to Tammy Sawyer (McDaniel) and Michael Brooks, Tiffany was a radiant soul who brought light and joy to everyone she met. She dedicated her life to her craft as a talented and passionate hairdresser, a career she embraced wholeheartedly from her youth until her final days. Tiffany’s life was a tapestry of love, laughter, and music. A gifted singer, she began her journey in the church choir and later graced school choruses, concert stages, and most recently, as a member of a band. Her voice touched hearts and brought people together, much like her generous spirit. She was also a skilled pool player, often found competing in tournaments and enjoying the camaraderie of the game. Above all, Tiffany’s greatest passion was her family. She was a devoted mother who poured her heart into raising and supporting her children, and she treasured the role of being a grandmother to her precious twin grandsons.
Tiffany leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with her mother, Tammy McDaniel, and father, Michael Brooks. She will be forever adored by her children: Dontray Marshall, Monae Couther, Kane Bell (Julia), Diamond Bell, Abdul Bell, Iyhana Bell, and Sky Bell; and her grandchildren, Roman and Elijah Bell. She is also lovingly remembered by her siblings, Michelle Brooks (Jah), Sherita Brooks, and Aaron Brooks (Jasmine); along with a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and lifelong friends. Her best friend, Chantelle Outten, and her pool partners, Damon “Feet” Norfleet and Mr. Mario, held special places in her heart.
To those who knew her, Tiffany was affectionately known as “Red,” a jewel of boundless energy and kindness. She had an infectious laugh, a mischievous sense of humor, and a strength that inspired all who crossed her path. She was a fighter, a prankster, and a true warrior who faced life’s challenges with grace and determination.
As we gather to celebrate Tiffany’s incredible life, let us honor her wish for joy, music, and laughter. She would have wanted us to smile through our tears and remember her vibrant spirit with love in our hearts. Tiffany, your life was a precious gift, and we will forever hold you close. Rest peacefully, dear Red—you will always be our shining light.
