On Tuesday, April 29, 2025, the Most High God called home one of his strongest and most stubborn soldiers, Thomas W. Jones, Sr., preceded by the late Roosevelt and Sadie Jones. Thomas lived a life full of purpose, resilience, and love.
He graduated from Ahoskie High School and obtained a degree in Business at Norfolk State University. His determination laid the foundation for a life of leadership and service. Thomas met and married the love of his life, Linda, and together they raised three wonderful children: Candice, Thomas (Winter), and Wanda (Ronnie).
A true entrepreneur, Thomas built his own demolition business and worked tirelessly for over 40 years doing what he loved. Outside of work, he found joy in spending time with his family, singing, dancing, telling stories from his youth, and going on family vacations. He was a pillar of strength, warmth, and wisdom.
Thomas-known lovingly as TJ-was a hardworking man whose legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew him. His presence will forever be etched into our lives. This is not goodbye, but see you later.
He is survived by his siblings: William Askew, Shirley Newsome, James Jones, Esther Outlaw, and Terry Jones; his 7 beloved grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

May 7, 2025 at 10:51 pmMay the Lord graciously cover this beautiful family with His love and grant them peace, strength, and healing during this incredibly difficult time. Mr. Jones was not only a devoted father to his children, but he also played a profound role in my life, guiding, encouraging, and caring for me like one of his own. His presence was a true blessing, and his legacy of love will live on in all of us who were fortunate enough to know him. With deepest sympathy, I offer my sincere condolences and continue to lift the family in prayer.
