Thomas Pitt, known by the nickname “Tom” or “Red,” son of Helen White and Clarence Pitt was born on October 12, 1956 and departed this earthly life on November 23, 2024. Thomas attended Portsmouth Public Schools. He attended Noble Street Baptist Church as a child with his family. Thomas worked as a carpet installer, installing carpet for Haynes and Cherry Carpet and Flooring. He also worked floor maintenance for various nursing homes in Portsmouth and Norfolk. Thomas loved to sing, especially when he would cook, whether is was breakfast, lunch or dinner, he would sing and sounding his best. He loved his oldies but goodies and his favorite was Frankie Beverly. Thomas loved to sing the Temptations version of Silent Night. Every Christmas while cooking you could hear him singing it, he sounded amazing.
