Thomas E. Hill was born in Whaleyville, VA. He went to Southwestern High School in Holland, and after school, he relocated to New Haven, CT. He was a member of the Teamsters Union and worked as a supervisor at a warehouse. He relocated back to Virginia and resided in Portsmouth, VA until his departure. He like to drag race, and play poker with his friends. He also liked sitting outside in his yard, which he used to jokingly refer to as “Main St.”
Thomas had a best friend since childhood, named James (June) Hunter. Thomas and June went to school together and followed each other to Connecticut and remained close friends throughout their lives. Thomas was formerly married to Annie Hill and Joann Hill. After his health began to fail, he decided to reside with one of his close friends, Roosevelt. Thomas departed this life after a long battle with various illnesses at Roosevelt’s home. Thomas was predeceased by his mother and father, James and Doris Hill; brother, Finis Hill and sister, Mercedes Hill. He leaves to cherish his memories, two sons, Orlando
Langston of Portsmouth, VA and Troy Stamey of New Haven, CT; nine grandchildren; nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
