Our beloved Thomas Bookhart gained his wings on Tuesday, September 29, 2020 in Virginia Beach, Virginia. He was born on June 6, 1945 in Elloree, South Carolina. Thomas was predeceased by his wife Cora Bookhart, his parents Christine Oliver and Frank Williams, his beloved son Shawn Bookhart, sister Lalann Way, and three brothers: Lucas Oliver, Ernest Keitt, and JC Sellers.
Thomas Bookhart served as an executive chef at Bonanza, Family Affair, and American Steakhouse for over 22 years in Connecticut. Thomas then went on to exploring entrepreneurship where he opened two Deli’s in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Thomas relocated to Virginia Beach, Virginia in 1990 where he started Mr. T Lawn Care, servicing the Hampton Roads area prior to retiring.
Thomas was a fun-loving people person that helped others as much as he could. His love for his family, especially his wife of over 45 years, was unconditional. Their bond was unexplainable with a force that was more powerful than life. Thomas had a loving heart and he would take anyone in and try to help them get back on their feet if needed, including the homeless.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his daughters Eddrina Franklin-Allen & Ieasha Bookhart; and his son Thomas Holman (Stacy). One sister, Elizabeth Reed; Brothers, JC Oliver, Eugene Oliver, George Oliver, and Curtis Williams. He also leaves a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family, and friends

October 6, 2020 at 7:59 amTom was a very loving people person. For he never met anyone you could call a stranger. Once anyone was in his present you were accepted as a friend or family. He loved Cora and their children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, with genuine and profound love. I’ll miss the fun and laughter we enjoyed with him.
RIP!
