Theresa Ann Templeman was born on June 18, 1955, to the late Waverly and Edith Smith in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. On November 24, 2024, she peacefully went home to be with the Lord.
Theresa received her education through the Philadelphia Public School System and graduated from Overbrook High School in 1972.
In the early 1980s, Theresa accepted Christ as her Savior and deepened her faith when she was baptized in 2002 as a member of Road to Emmaus Church.
In 1990, Theresa married Stanley Templeman, and together they were blessed with three wonderful children: Robert, Adrian, and Bianca.
Theresa dedicated the majority of her career to serving the United States Government. She retired as a distinguished civil service employee from The Navy Environmental Health Center on January 2, 2014.
Theresa was a strong, compassionate, and exceptional woman. As a devoted mother, wife, sister, grandmother, and friend, she touched the lives of many with her kindness and humor. She had a passion for shopping, especially for her grandchildren, and was always on the lookout for a great sale. In the kitchen, Theresa was renowned for her delicious mac and cheese, yams, baked beans, and cakes, which brought joy to every family gathering.
She cherished family trips, long conversations, and moments filled with laughter and love. Theresa’s laughter had a way of lighting up the entire room, and her legacy of love and joy will be forever remembered.
Theresa was preceded in death by her older brother, Robert Lee Smith, and her older sister, Alberta Smith Copeland.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her beloved husband, Stanley; her three children, Robert (Jessica), Adrian (Shandesa), and Bianca; her brother, Willie Smith; her sister, Wendelin Smith; her two stepchildren, Stanley II and Kia (Jimmy) Blain; her cherished nieces, Crystal, Veronica, and Patricia; and her adored grandchildren, Robert Jr., Bryson, Brielle, La’Jayah, La’Nya, Jimmy, Jeremiah, and La’Asia. She also leaves behind a host of cousins, friends, and loved ones who will forever treasure her memory.
