In Loving Memory: Thelma Cromwell Quick (May 13th, 1947 – March 6th, 2024)

Born into the gentle embrace of Suffolk, Virginia, on May 13th, 1947, Thelma Cromwell Quick graced the world with her presence, a radiant soul nurtured by the love of her parents Mary Louise Miles and Wilborne Lawrence. On March 6th, 2024, in the same loving embrace, she bid her final adieu, leaving behind a legacy of love, compassion, and unwavering devotion.

Thelma’s life was a testament to the power of family and the beauty of service. She leaves behind four cherished children: Faith F. Nichols, Thomas L. Quick Jr. (Wife, Dawn A. Quick), Michael A. Quick (Terri Valentine), and Sherita N. Quick-Williams (Husband Tony L. Williams), each a testament to her boundless capacity for love and nurturing.

Her heart overflowed with pride and joy for her nine beloved grandchildren: Marquell Quick, Dion Quick, Hashim Burdett, Malik Quick, Jalen Quick, Zyiah Quick, Zytaviah Quick, Omarion Williams, Keyaira Williams, and precious great grandchild Caleb Quick, each a precious gem in the crown of her legacy.

Thelma’s journey was shared with her seven siblings, Dallas Cromwell, Lavelle Pointer, Perry Sims, Cynthia Miles, Priscilla Miles, Evelyn Ellis, and Catherine Miles, each woven into the fabric of her life with threads of love, laughter, and shared memories. She shared her closest thoughts and prayers with her two surviving Aunts, Elizabeth B. Hopkins, and Alice C. Edwards

On September 12th, 1965, in Baltimore, Maryland, Thelma exchanged vows with her beloved husband, Thomas Lorenzo Quick, embarking on a journey of love and companionship who laid to rest December 9th, 2021.

Thelma’s life was marked by service and dedication. With over 20 years of experience in banking, she touched countless lives with her wisdom, compassion, and grace. In her later years, she found fulfillment in nurturing the hearts and minds of the young, retiring with her own licensed Peace of Mind Childcare LLC at the age of seventy-five, a testament to her boundless love and care.

Thelma Cromwell Quick’s legacy will endure through the ages, living on in the hearts and minds of all who had the privilege of knowing her. May her gentle spirit find eternal peace in the embrace of her loved ones, and may her memory continue to inspire and uplift those whose lives she touched. As we bid farewell to a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, may her light shine brightly in our hearts, guiding us with love and grace in the days ahead.
