Thaddus Donell Jackson, a native of Birmingham, Alabama, departed this life peacefully at home on Thursday, May 8, 2025. Thaddus was born on November 8, 1962, to the late Ethel Lois Jackson and Arthur Murry.
Thaddus confessed his belief and commitment at an early age. He was educated in the Birmingham, Alabama, Public School System. While in high school, Thaddus met Bernice in JROTC in 1979. He played High School football. He graduated from G.W. Carver in 1981, then attended Birmingham Southern Jr, College. Thaddus later joined the United States Navy. Thaddus returned home to Birmingham to marry the love of his life, Bernice Jackson. He loved what he did in the Navy. He then made a career with BAE Systems Shipyard for 35 years. At BAE, Thaddus was known as a hard worker. He was also an avid Seattle Seahawk and Alabama Crimson “Roll Tide” fan.
Thaddus was preceded in death by his mother, Ethel Jackson; aunt, Willie Nell; uncle, Jake Young; mother-in-law, Levola Jackson; three brothers-in-law, Curtis Hall, William Bates, and Jimmy Smith; three sisters in-law, Kathy Hill, Cynthia Smith, and Thelma Hall.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife of 42 years, Bernice Jackson; one brother, Alandus (Cathy) Hillard of Frederick, Md; three nephews, Rias, Aris and Elias Hillard of Frederick, Md.; special nephews/son, Dessie Hall of Virginia Beach, VA; one sister in-law, Sheila Hall of Birmingham, AL; two brothers in-law, James Hall of Orange, NJ and Lawerence hill of Somerset, NJ; his godson, Gerard Downing of Frisco, TX; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
