Tezon Rashad Jones departed this life on Sunday, August 14, 2022. Our lives were changed and our hearts were hurt for our Son, father, grandson, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin & friend. Tezon known to many as “Zon” was born on January 30, 1990 in Norfolk, Va. He grew up in Roberts Park in Norfolk, where he was a kid that just couldn’t kept in the house. Tezon attended the Boys & Girls Club every day to hang out until he was a teenager. He participated in sports within the community, he played football & basketball as a child and often played as an adult for fun. Tezon was extremely athletic and extremely smart. Tezon was an honor roll student and stayed at the top of his classes throughout his academic endeavors with Norfolk Public Schools. Many of his teachers adored him as a kid. Tezon received his GED in 2007. He later went on to pursue HVAC, he completed his technical degree in HVAC in 2020 at United Education Institute in GA, where he made the deans list every semester.
Tezon was a vibe that could not be denied. He was smart, handsome, funny, hardworking and most of all loyal. Anyone who had the pleasure of having an encounter with Tezon couldn’t help but to love the type of person Tezon genuinely was. He was always fun to be around, you could always count on him to make you laugh in any situation and he had a smile that would light up a room. Tezon was in his words “a hustler” he was a firm believer in “working hard will pay off” and he did just that. Tezon was a manager at his job Tommy’s Express in Jonesboro, GA, where he had been dedicated to his position and his company. He also had his own clothing business called 1up Fashionz where he made customized clothing and provided women’s clothing as well. In Lieu of every great thing anyone can mention about Tezon, one of the things he was most proud of is being an exceptional father to his 4 children. Tezon adored his children, and made every effort to be present in every milestone no matter how big or small and his children always gave him that same love back.
Tezon was truly a one of a kind guy. His personality spoke volumes, he exhibited an aura about him that anyone would love. He was like a chameleon always able to adapt and connect with anyone that crossed his path. Anyone that he considered a friend or family, anyone he loved always knew they could count on Tezon in any situation. Tezon will truly be missed and it will never be another like him he’s beyond irreplaceable .
Tezon is predeceased by his mother, Anissa “Niecy” Jones-Mccoy (Joe); his maternal grandfather, Marvin Otey, his uncles, Clifton Jones, Marvin Jones, William Trotman and Russell Jones. He leaves to cherish his father, Anthony Crandle; his children, Saniya Jones, Chase Jones, Chozen and Promise Jones; his grandmothers, Jean Jones and Brenda Hayes; his siblings, Ariana Church (Brandon), Jarrell Jones, Armin Robinson (Lakeena), Kiara Beckett, Maya Ausler-Ferguson, and De-Qwane Brown; and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, Roberts Park Family, and special friends.

September 2, 2022 at 4:36 pmZon although we didn’t know each other a very long time, one thing I do know is that you were a cool and funny guy. I know that you made people laugh and forget their own problems that they were going through. Like we when went to Waffle House to get food while waiting on your twins girls to be born you said “man I about to starve” and I’m glad I’m just the daddy so I can eat, All while Benitra was in labor and couldn’t eat. I said yes you better eat so you don’t pass out in the (OR) seeing them (twins) being delivered, you said Yea I think I am going to hit the floor and I laugh so hard picturing you hitting the floor. Just take your rest and know that your girls, my nieces will always know that their father loved them very much. So just continue keep watching over your children while we keep your spirit alive.

September 2, 2022 at 6:44 pmFirst, to the beloved family my heart felt condolences. Wow smh, where can I begin. I hadn’t spoken to Tezon since the early 2000’s in Norfolk when he told me he was in school and staying out of trouble. I had a long pep talk with him on finding his own path and not choosing others negative path to provoke and/or guide him. He reassured me that he was on the right path and I could discern that he was sincere and would never look back going forward, we exchanged numbers and said I love you, and I never saw his face in person again. I can remember Tezon and how he use to call me Ma, and say how he thought I was so pretty when asked by one of the family members. I use to keep him on the weekends, and in summer along with Armin, Arianna, and Jarrell I would take them to Mt. Carmel church on Sundays, he really seem to enjoy himself especially because he was with family. Tezon was really funny, always joking around with that infectious smile and laugh. You never know what life holds from second to second that’s why we have to stay in touch from time to time just to say How are you and I love you. I immediately broke down in tears, sadden and shocked to hear of that tragic day August 14, to say the least, something I’ll never, ever forget the rest of my days on this earth. Stay strong beloved, may He the Most High our Father who dwells above the heavens give you peace, wisdom, and understanding. Much Love ❤️
