Terri Clemons Belshe, age 58, passed peacefully into eternal rest at her home in Alpharetta, GA, surrounded by her family on August 10, 2019. She was born on December 29, 1960 in Portsmouth, VA to Mrs. Magalene Smith Clemons and the late Toney A. Clemons, Sr. as the middle child of five siblings.
She attended schools in Suffolk, VA where she was a 1980 graduate of John Yeates High School. Terri was last employed as a client service manager in Alpharetta, GA where her lovely telephone voice and excellent customer service skills were on full display. Always one with a creative and entrepreneurial spirit, Terri also started two companies; a marketing company creating flyers and other marketing materials for churches and individuals across the country as well as a local cleaning business.
She was baptized at an early age as a member of New Hope Baptist Church, Suffolk, VA. She loved the Lord with all her heart, body, soul and spirit exemplifying a strong faith that encouraged everyone she met. Terri was devoted to her family and became interested in genealogy and researching family history. In the process, she met and developed loving relationships with relatives both near and far.
Terri was a kind, loving and giving person. She was an excellent wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend! She loved to garden and took pride in the care of her beautiful home.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Jack Belshe, her daughter, Transis Clemons (Steven Herndon), and two grandchildren, Josiah and Jibri Herndon of Alpharetta, GA. Her mother, Mrs. Magalene Clemons of Portsmouth, VA, one sister, Mrs. Beverly Heath (William) of Powder Springs, GA, three brothers, Toney, Gary, and Tracy Clemons (Melody) all of Portsmouth, VA and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

August 15, 2019 at 11:51 amWords can’t explain how heavy my heart is due to the loss of one of my favorite cousins, Terri Clemons Belshe. She will truly be missed. I remember when she first called me while tracing the family tree. I knew instantly that we were related because we both love to talk. When I met her at the first family reunion in Kittrell, NC, it was on. She jumped out of her seat to help me as soon as she saw me. Of course, Jack was behind her. Over the years, our love grew stronger and stronger. She was the reason that I looked forward to attending the Clemons Family Reunions. I knew if she was there, we were going to have a ball! She had such a big giving heart. Whenever I needed help with flyers and church programs, I knew I could always depend on her. She was awesome in graphics designs. I called her my “Photoshop Queen!” I will always remember our bible studies too. I told cousin Terri that God had called her to preach. She knew and lived by the Word of God. She explained scriptures in a way that I could understand and not forget them. On our last conversation last week, she reminded me that flesh and blood cannot enter into the kingdom of God. I knew then that my dear Cousin was ready for her transition. I know I will see her again one day so this gives me solace knowing that she’s in a better place. What a precious gem she was. Rest in peace my beautiful loveable Cousin Terri. I love you but God loves you best. To her husband Jack and my beautiful Cousins Magalene, Transis, Beverly, Gary, and Tony hold on to God’s unchanging hands and to each other. Thank you for sharing her with me. Love you all.

August 16, 2019 at 4:41 pmI had the privilege of meeting Terri back in the 80’s and back then I notice that she had a wonderful spirit about herself. Even though I have not seen or spoke to her since the 80’s Terri and her husband briefly communicated over the phone with me approx 3 years ago and they both volunteer to help market my business for free. All I could think of is “Where do you find these kind of people any more” Once again I had to remind myself that God uses his flock to help one another just in time. Rest in Peace, because the Lord has you. May your Husband and family find peace during this time.
