Taniya Kimora Basnight aka Bloop aka Niy-Pie was born on July 29, 2003 to Whitney Basnight Coleman and Lorenzo “Bubba” Pierce. Taniya attended Bayside High School where she earned an advanced diploma at the age of 16. During her time at Bayside, she played junior varsity and varsity softball and she was a varsity cheerleader. After graduating, she attended Norfolk State University with the dream of becoming a nurse like her nana. Taniya will be remembered for her heartwarming smile, undeniable wit and humor, and her unique style. She will also be remembered for her big heart and love for other people.
Taniya leaves to cherish her precious memories is her loving and devoted mother Whitney Basnight Coleman; her father, Lorenzo “Bubba” Pierce; her step-father, Jason Coleman (who had the title of step, but filled a real father’s shoes.) Taniya also leaves to cherish her siblings, Jaleah, Sienna, Sanai, and her brother Elijah; her maternal grandmother, Brenda Scott (Thomas); great-grandmother, Clara “NukNuk” Bernard; her paternal grandparents, Lorenzo Piece and her nana Patricia “Pat” Pierce; her grandmothers, Gloria Colemand and Sabrina Smalls; her uncles, Ronny “BJ” Basnight, Jr., Terrence “Tee” Pierce (Micah), Charles Yett (Craig); aunts, Gwen Shepherd (Ronnie), Jeanine Smalls, Devondra Gilliam, Vanessa Adams, Monique Ferguson; God-mother, Shaday Squire; her extended loved ones, Dieara Carter, Damel Foreman, Damyah Foreman, Danayjah Foreman; cousin, Nakia Means; and a host of other cousins and loved ones.
